Cana of Galilee

The Galilean village where Jesus performed his first sign, turning water into wine (John 2:1-11). Traditionally identified with the pilgrimage site of Kafr Kanna, though recent excavation evidence favors Khirbet Qana to the north as the more likely site of ancient Cana.

Khirbet Qana / Kafr Kanna

Because of the etymology of the name (a pronunciation mismatch between 'Kanna' and 'Cana') and recent excavation results, Khirbet Qana has the upper hand, but tradition points to Kafr Kanna, so it remains classified as disputed.
