Terms of Service

Anyone may browse the public map, library and courses. Creating an account is currently limited to people aged 18 or older while membership is in beta.

If you use Geobi on behalf of a church, school or other organization, you confirm that you are allowed to accept these terms for it.

You can sign in with an email address and password, or with a Google account. Keep your sign-in details secure and tell us at contact@geobi.org if you believe someone else has accessed your account.

Provide accurate information and use one account per person. You are responsible for activity that takes place under your account.

Geobi is for personal study, teaching, church and classroom use. You agree not to: break the law or infringe others’ rights; post content that is abusive, hateful, sexually explicit or deceptive; impersonate others; try to access other members’ data or bypass security; overload, scrape or copy the service in bulk by automated means beyond ordinary browsing; or resell the service.

Group leaders are responsible for inviting only people who have agreed to share their progress with the group.

You keep ownership of notes, messages and group information you add. You give Storetag a limited licence to store, process and display that content only to operate Geobi for you and the people you choose to share it with.

Only add content you have the right to share. We may remove content that breaks these terms.

Geobi’s design, place descriptions, journey maps, courses and quizzes are owned by Storetag or its licensors. You may use the share links, embed codes and teaching views that Geobi provides for non-commercial study and teaching.

Bible translations, map data and other sources remain the property of their owners and are used under their public-domain status or licences. Sources and credits are listed on the Editorial principles page and on each map (for example © OpenStreetMap contributors).

Geobi is a learning resource. Many biblical locations and routes are uncertain, and maps are simplified. Geobi is not a navigation tool and does not provide professional, legal or pastoral advice.

We welcome corrections at contact@geobi.org and review reported errors.

Geobi is currently free to use. We may add, change or stop features. If we offer paid features in the future, their price and terms will be shown before you buy.

App store purchases, when available, are also subject to the rules of the store you buy from.

Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect and how we use it, including information received when you sign in with Google.

You can stop using Geobi at any time and delete your account from the Account page. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other members or the service at risk. Sections that by their nature should continue (such as 5, 10, 11 and 12) survive termination.

Geobi is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Storetag disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and uninterrupted availability.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Storetag is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill. Storetag’s total liability for any claim relating to Geobi is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for Geobi in the 12 months before the claim or USD 50.

Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a claim, please contact us at contact@geobi.org so we can try to resolve the issue informally within 30 days.

Any dispute that is not resolved informally will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey, and you and Storetag consent to their jurisdiction.

We may update these terms. We will change the date above and, for significant changes, give notice on the site or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use Geobi after the changes take effect means you accept them.
