Dan (Tel Dan)
Israel's northernmost town, the reference point for the phrase 'from Dan to Beersheba.' Renamed from Laish after the tribe of Dan settled there, and famous as the site where Jeroboam set up a golden calf (Judges 18, 1 Kings 12).
